What We Do
Planning Commission
The Royal Oak Township Planning Commission is responsible for reviewing development proposals for commercial, industrial, and residential construction or renovation projects. The Planning Commission is also responsible for updating the Township’s Master Plan and ensuring the township continues to work toward the vision of the Master Plan over time. Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA)
The Zoning Board of Appeals is responsible for hearing applicant requests to deviate from the Zoning Ordinance, which is one of the Township’s local laws. The Zoning Ordinance controls how property is developed and what it can be used for. For more information on the Zoning Ordinance, please visit the Planning and Building webpage.
